The Federal Hemp Deadline: What Customers Should Know

1. Current scheduled date

The current working deadline is November 12, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time. We describe this as scheduled, not settled: it is the date that applies unless Congress changes it.

2. What federal rules may change

The scheduled change narrows how certain hemp-derived products are defined and treated at the federal level, including limits tied to intoxicating cannabinoid content. Depending on the final language, some products may need to be reformulated, restricted to specific channels, or withdrawn.

3. What remains uncertain

• Whether the effective date is delayed, replaced or left in place.
• How agencies interpret and enforce the final text.
• Which specific product formats are affected and to what degree.
• How individual states respond, since state rules apply independently.

4. Possible congressional extension

A temporary extension to December 11, 2026 has been discussed. We do not move the countdown to an extended date unless and until an administrator confirms that the extension was actually enacted.

We are selling from existing approved warehouse inventory, keeping documentation on file for every batch we ship, and reviewing product eligibility on an ongoing basis. If a product becomes ineligible, we remove it from box allocation rather than shipping it.

Shipping eligibility is checked before fulfillment. If a destination or product is no longer eligible at the time of shipment, we will contact you about substitution or a refund of the affected portion.
